The article briefly the history of intellectual assessment with children and youth in Japan, as well as current practices and future directions. In Japan, major intelligence tests include the Wechsler Intelligence Scales, and the Kaurman Asseeement Battery for Children, which are used to develop individualized teaching plans to help students with developmental disabiltites.
